Forex investing can be incredibly tedious if you try to do it by hand. So it's a good thing that there are robots available that can do the job for you. Except -- how do you find a Forex robot, also known as Forex Expert Advisor software, that does the job so well that it's actually making you money, consistently, and over the long haul?
Picking the right Forex Expert Advisor software can be a real challenge. Over the years, there have been lots of robots available, yet few if any of them kept working the way they were supposed to. There's a reason for that.
Trading signals
In order for a Forex Expert Advisor to work properly, it needs not only to be programmed correctly, but it also needs to receive trading signals. Those are usually only available with the better and more costly versions of such software.
And that's not all. Much depends on the quality of those signals. Computers can do only so much with mathematics. The gold standard is that an actual human verifies that the signals are correct. So if you can find a Forex Expert Advisor that includes human verified signals, you may have found a winner.
Of course there are other aspects to check into:
Is your information protected?
One of the most important aspects of trading is that you'll be able to make trades based on your personal parameters. Once that information is leaked out, it may compromise your trades.
Do you have flexibility regarding the size of your trades?
How much flexibility do you have with regard to the size of the trades you get your robot to make? Be sure they fall into a range you're comfortable with.
Are all six main currency pairs supported?
Are all six major currency pairs supported? What about other currency pairs you might wish to trade? Be sure you get ongoing support and data for at least the main ones and have the option to expand.
Is there customer support that actually supports you?
Many robots have almost no customer support. Yet you need to be assured that you have access to someone who is able and willing to help if you run into any questions, of if your robot malfunctions.
How much will it cost?
Many robots look inexpensive, but then you get into a never-ending loop of upsells, and by the time you're done you could probably have hired a portfolio manager for the price.
So do check how much it will cost you, start to finish. Generally, you should expect an initial investment and then an ongoing subscription fee if you're getting an ongoing service, such as trading signals. Make sure they're within your budget, and also that you'll be able to earn enough on the trades you plan to make that you'll be able to recoup your ongoing fees and make a profit too. After all, making a profit is what Forex and working with Forex Expert Advisor software is all about.
